With the EXA8 Cubro pioneered a new class of Network Monitoring and Visibility appliance. Aimed at the needs of Enterprise markets, the EXA8 is a versatile and economical hardware platform that combines features previously specific to separate hardware devices. Such features include integrated fail-safe tapping, 10Gbps SFP+ interfaces, support for hardware peripherals, and internal storage. This hardware formed the foundation for a diverse set of software options with application-specific features such as packet capture and analysis, DPI-driven protocol decodes, NetFlow analysis, Aggregation, Traffic Filtering, Load-Balancing and Advanced Network Packet Broker functionality.
The evolution of the EXA8 concept has brought Cubro to its latest product offering…the Omnia line of enterprise visibility products. The Omnia series leverages Cubro’s experience in Network Visibility and Monitoring, creating a lineup of purpose-driven hardware paired with feature stacks developed over years of engineering. This approach offers customers greater choice and more functionality. The EXA8 joins the Omnia lineup, now as the Omnia 10, while Omnia expands on the hardware capabilities with the Omnia 20 and Omnia 120 featuring higher port density, ports speeds, and performance. Each piece of hardware is designed to incorporate features from Cubro’s PacketMaster and SessionMaster feature stacks, functions coming directly from Cubro’s line of network packet brokers and advanced, next-gen packet brokers, respectively.
Omnia also introduces the AppMaster feature stack, a full-featured Ubuntu Linux operating system allowing users to run additional applications. These applications come from a diverse ecosystem including applications developed by Cubro, our AppMaster partners, and packages from the Linux open-source community.
Cubro has earned a reputation for technical expertise and has pushed the performance and capabilities of network visibility products beyond the expected industry standards. Further building on this lineage, Omnia offers users all the features of the most advanced Network Packet Brokers available while offering higher throughput and performance. The most significant differentiating factor though is the ability to develop, integrate, and leverage third-party software on the device itself. Leveraging custom solutions, designed around your network, for tighter integration and increased efficiency.

About Cubro Network Visibility
Cubro solutions are instrumental in the successful outcomes of IT initiatives such as 5G/4G/3G, customer experience management and service assurance, digital transformation, data security, virtualised Data Centres and software-defined networking/NFV because they remove network monitoring ‘blind spots’ to provide enhanced visibility and control of all data transiting a company’s network. Cubro started in 2003 when a customer asked for a network TAP to save in IT costs. Cubro TAP was designed and manufactured in a garage, and those first TAPs, which were made in 2003, are still in use. Our business idea has not changed; it is based on partnership with our customers. Today we are a leading manufacturer and global supplier of IT network visibility products that provide network monitoring, analytics and security visibility solutions for Service Providers and Enterprise networks.
